Delete your account

Delete from inside the app

1. Open the Big Screen Soulmates app (or the website) and sign in.
2. Go to the Home tab.
3. Scroll to the Your account section.
4. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. If you only want a break, use Pause profile in the same section — that hides you from Discover without deleting anything.

Cancel Big Screen Plus first

Deleting your account does not cancel a paid Big Screen Plus subscription, because the subscription is billed by your app store and not by us. Cancel it in your app store's subscription settings before you delete, or it will keep renewing. Refunds are handled by your app store under its own policies.

Request deletion by email

If you can't sign in, email support@bigscreensoulmates.com from the address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We verify ownership of the address and complete the deletion within 30 days.

Delete some of your data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. From the Profile tab you can, at any time:

• Remove your profile photo and verification selfie — tap Remove photo on your profile. This clears your verified tick and hides Discover until you retake a verification selfie.
• Clear your bio, relatable characters, and other free-text details
• Remove movies from your favourites list
• Turn off Show my city and state/province so only your country is used
• Revoke device sessions, or pause your profile to hide from Discover

For anything you can't remove yourself, email support@bigscreensoulmates.com and tell us which data you want erased. We respond within 30 days. Some records — open safety reports, moderation evidence, and ban records — must be kept for the periods below.

What is deleted

• Your login credentials and email address
• Your profile: name, age, gender, preferences, bio, city and country, movie list
• Your profile photo and any stored verification selfies
• Your likes, passes, matches, and conversations
• Your device sessions, referral records, and feedback submissions

What is retained, and for how long

• Open safety reports — up to 7 days. If another user has an unresolved report against your account, deletion is held briefly so moderators can finish the review.
• Moderation evidence — up to 365 days. Messages and report details tied to a confirmed safety violation are kept in a restricted moderation archive to protect other users and meet legal obligations.
• Verification selfie hashes — up to 90 days. Kept to prevent banned users from immediately re-registering.
• Ban records. If your account was suspended or banned for a policy violation, a minimal record is kept so the ban can be enforced.
• Payment records. Subscription and transaction records are retained by our payment processors and for tax/accounting purposes as required by law.

Everything else is erased permanently. Retained items are not used for matching, marketing, or profiling.

Get a copy of your data first

Before deleting, you can export everything we hold about you: Home → Your account → Download my data. After deletion we can no longer produce an export.
