Meeting people from the internet always carries some risk. These are the tools we provide and the habits that keep users safest.

Protections built into the app

  • 18+ only. Date of birth is verified at signup and enforced in the database.
  • Selfie verification. Every profile photo must match a pose-prompted selfie before Discover unlocks.
  • Country verification. IP and (optionally) device location must resolve to the country on your profile.
  • Report & block. Available on every profile, chat, and match card. Blocking is mutual and permanent unless you undo it.
  • Human moderation. Reports are reviewed and acted on. Confirmed violations remove the account.
  • Encrypted transport & storage. Data in transit uses TLS; photos are served through short-lived signed URLs.

Meeting in person

  • Meet in a public place with people around — a cinema lobby, a café, a busy bar.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you'll be and when you expect to be home.
  • Arrange your own transport. Don't get picked up from your home on a first meet.
  • Stay sober enough to leave. Watch your drink.
  • Video chat first if you can — it's a low-cost way to confirm the person matches their profile.
  • Trust your instincts. If something feels off, leave. You do not owe anyone an explanation.

Protecting your privacy

  • Don't share your home address, workplace, or exact daily schedule until you know someone.
  • Never send money, gift cards, or crypto to anyone you met on the app. This is the most common scam pattern.
  • Reverse-image search photos that seem too polished — it can flag stolen profile pictures.
  • Be cautious with anyone who quickly pushes you off the app to WhatsApp, Telegram, or SMS.

Reporting abuse

Use the Report button on any profile, match, or chat. Reports are private. Categories include harassment, fake profiles, inappropriate content, underage users, and scams. If a report concerns content depicting a minor, we treat it as our highest priority and act on it before other reports.

If you are in immediate physical danger, call your local emergency number (911 in the US and Canada, 999 in the UK, 112 in the EU) before contacting us.
